Over a period of time we identified a growing body of evidence that the elders of our communities were not engaging in any social interaction and were becoming lonely and withdrawn, which over time starts to affect ones well being, and that for some, their only brief social interaction was on a Friday whilst attending the Mosque for prayer.

We therefore commenced our Elders Luncheon Club, giving the older members of our communities an opportunity to meet new people, socialise, be part of a support network and have something to look forward to every week.

Now in its second year, the weekly cooked meal is a highlight for many and the numbers attending continue to grow and grow.
